SERENE LUXURY…
Hotel Sages began as a creative sanctuary, born out of the global pandemic which was initially envisioned as an artistic retreat to gather, create and connect which has now evolved into a serene luxury boutique hotel.
Life is about choices. Here you have two. A suite in a small intimate boutique hotel or take all 9 and have your own private villa oasis nestled between the lush tropical rice fields and the vibrant heart of Canggu.
Hotel Sages arrived in 2018 and then had a full renovation shortly after in 2020 which is when an architectural masterpiece was created that blends the clean, crisp lines of Santorini’s iconic whitewashed buildings with the organic, earthy charm of Tulum. Our stunning high arches, open courtyards, and serene outdoor spaces create a sense of peace and luxury that is truly unique in Bali. The design is intentionally minimalistic yet warm, with each space carefully curated to foster tranquility and inspiration.
From the moment you step through our doors, you’ll be welcomed to your paradise oasis and greeted by artfully designed interiors and an atmosphere that invites relaxation and mindfulness. Every corner of Hotel Sages is Instagrammable, making it the perfect backdrop for unforgettable moments.
What started as a collaborative art studio has flourished into a tranquil haven where guests can experience the beauty of Bali while nurturing their creative spirit. A Sage in philosophy is a body of knowledge attributed to wise men and women in communities and is regarded to be philosophically significant for both it’s content and it’s critical approach to the sustenance and growth of knowledge at a communal level.
We believe that every one of us, attains the wisdom of a Sage and by creating a space which encourages self love and prioritising health and wellness, where we hope to unveil the Sage that lives within us all. Our daily ritual of ‘Canang Sari’ are given to the gods every morning by our Hindu Balinese staff as a form of thanks for balance and peace in our world that is renewed each day.
On offer are nine spacious luxury suites bringing a blend of comfort and elegance, each featuring custom-designed furniture, unique layouts, and stunning interior décor. Every suite is thoughtfully curated with one-of-a-kind art and bespoke touches, creating an inviting atmosphere that reflects the beauty and culture of Bali.
Here you can expect refined luxury in a tranquil setting, where every detail enhances the experience of relaxation and serenity or select to attend one of our retreats which create a safe space for Individuals worldwide, a sense of community and belonging where we embrace the ‘Health is Wealth’ mentality at a Sage Retreat.
Our philosophy is built on offering personalised service, attention to detail, and a deep commitment to guest satisfaction, ensuring that every stay at Hotel Sages is nothing short of extraordinary. “One of the things I truly love about Hotel Sages is how it feels like a hidden oasis, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the island. From the moment you arrive, there’s an immediate sense of calm and tranquility that sets the tone for a rejuvenating stay. I also appreciate how we’ve woven wellness into every aspect of our guest experience. Whether it’s soothing spa treatments, daily rituals, or simply unwinding in our serene spaces, we make self-care a natural part of each day”.

“What I love the most is our incredible team. Every member of our staff is local Balinese, and their warmth and hospitality bring a genuine sense of family to the space. It’s that personal touch—welcoming guests like old friends and sharing bits of local culture—that truly makes Hotel Sages feel like home”.

Arrival Process
For U.K. passport holders, there are a few things which we highly recommend you should complete online before you arrive.
A Visa is required to enter Bali, which can be done online or on arrival at the airport (known as a VOA). This will cost 500k (approx £25 per person) for an online application or at the airport - no difference in price.
Applying for this online will save time and like most, many systems will have their constraints and you might struggle to get the correct photo being accepted, but if you have a copy of your passport photo saved, then this should be easy. The airport will possibly be busy and chaotic like many airports around the world, but there are lots of staff around whom will be able to help.
2. Bali Tourist Tax, which needs to be paid and completed online before arrival. This costs 150K (approx £7.50/8.00 per person).
You might be asked for proof of payment and have to show a QR code, so please ensure you have this to hand. If you are unable to show proof, you will be asked to leave the queue and go to the back and then show it again.
3. Customs Declaration which can be done online or on arrival at the airport.
This is done by scanning the QR code, which can be found at the airport or found online before you arrive. Complete the prompted questions per household, and then get the QR code to show officials once you have completed it.
4. SATUSEHAT health pass is required to be updated before you arrive into Indonesia and can be completed online.
At The Airport On Arrival
If you have a taxi or hotel transfer pre-booked, the drivers will be waiting with named signs for you after you have completed the steps above. This area of the airport is very busy as most people have pre-arranged their onwards transfer. If you haven't pre-booked your transfer, then don't worry, as there are other options available, such as Grab, whom have a stand at the airport.
Pre-booking provides a sense of relief your driver will be waiting for you and you won’t have to wait around or have another process to contend with after a long flight over.
